Welcome to my blog. Within my blog you will find my latest work as well as my life, family and passion for photography. What started out as a personal hobby has now grown into something that I want to share with others.

I have taken a few photo courses that has definitely increased my awareness of my camera and my surroundings. I am by no means the perfect photographer (yet), but am a lifelong learner and willing to push myself and my creativity.

Studio Portrait Lighting Course

I have wanted to take this course for a long time and finally there was space to get enrolled. We are currently going on to week 5 of 6 and I have learnt so much. The photos displayed are high key and low key lighting. We had some wonderful models volunteer to pose for the day. Most were inexperienced but as the day went on they became more at ease.

Big White - January 2011

I had a great opportunity when I went for a girls weekend to Big White in British Columbia. On the last day, I decided that I wanted to get some snowboarding pics in the terrain park. After a 45 minute hike up the mountain, I finally got to shoot some great photos of some very talented boarders. This was my first time photographing snowboarding, I was not really sure where I should stand to get the best angles. As the day, I decided that the best shots were of the boarders get big air off the highest jump. It was very exciting see these guys test their abilities (I am sure some of them were stepping it up a notch for the camera) but I did not mind at all.

Christmas Family Photos

I had the opportunity to photograph the family of a woman I use to play soccer with back in the day. It was a blast getting to catch up after a lot of years. The three girls were great and very cooperative. I appreciate the family allowing me to come into their lovely home and set up my equipment.

Night and Low Light Photography Course

I signed up for the SAIT Night and Low light Photography course earlier in the year not really sure what to expect out of it. We are 5 weeks into the course (only one more to go) and I am learning a ton of new techniques, from capturing fireworks, fire, Christmas lights and much, much more. Below are a few examples of some the techniques I have learnt with the first and foremost rule of being patient.

Lots of Smiles

I was able to photograph a family that I get to see the parents almost every week when we are in season. I am glad I got the opportunity to have them all together and photograph some wonderful memories.

Oh So Sweet Sisters

I had the pleasure of taking photos of two cute little girls. Little girls are so precious and sweet, how can you not love them.
